Ryan Miller BSc. MFin. — Host of Making Billions Podcast, Founder of Fund Raise Capital

HOST & FOUNDER

RYAN MILLER BSc. MFin.

Ryan Miller started his career at the height of the 2008 financial crisis — arguably the worst time in a generation to enter finance, and exactly the right time to learn what markets actually do under pressure. He began at Merrill Lynch's Global Private Client Group in Salt Lake City before moving to the trading floor in New York. That foundation shaped everything that came after.

Over 18 years, Ryan has operated at every level of institutional finance — from the deal table to the boardroom. After graduate school he led the M&A team as VP of Finance at a major energy company, acquiring oil reserves and growing the technology portfolio from $50 million to $500 million through modern portfolio theory and quantitative modelling. He then served as CFO of Surex Direct Insurance, a national award-winning InsurTech company, driving 50% year-over-year revenue growth.

He has served on the Board of the Canadian Home Builders' Association and the Board of Andira Pharmaceuticals. He has also walked away from a $200 million deal because the person across the table didn't clear the bar. That's not a footnote — it's a statement about how he operates.

Today Ryan runs Fund Raise Capital — a community where fund managers learn advanced capital raising strategies and fund management frameworks — alongside Aequor Capital Partners (private equity) and Darqside Ventures, a deeptech fund focused on AI, robotics, and quantum computing, co-founded with Travis Steffen, an 8x exited founder. His frameworks have been used by over 2,000 fund managers globally.

He has spoken alongside Ed Mylett, Jim Rogers, Pace Morby, Jen Gottlieb, and Garrett White on capital raising and fund management. Angel investor in technology and energy.

"Your reputation, your relationships, and your results are the only assets that matter at this level."

Built for fund managers. Not for everyone.

Making Billions exists for one person: the fund manager who is serious about raising institutional capital and refuses to waste time on theory, motivation, or content built for retail investors.

Every episode is engineered to deliver one thing: the real playbook from fund managers who have already done it. Not what they wish they had done. What they actually did.

Ryan Miller BSc., MFin. built Making Billions from the ground up as a resource for GPs and capital raisers who operate at the institutional level or are committed to getting there.

This is the show for fund managers who are serious about raising institutional-grade capital. Not theory. Not motivation. The real playbook.
